Choose a supply channel for your needs
Plastic bottle caps can be sourced from cap manufacturers and packaging distributors. A request for a few replacement caps differs from regular industrial supply. Tell the supplier what you will use the cap for, how many you need and whether you expect repeat orders.
Availability, minimum order quantity, sample arrangements and lead time depend on the product and supplier. Confirm these details in a current quotation.
Is diameter enough to place an order?
No. Two caps with the same nominal diameter may have different threads or sealing designs. A bottle neck drawing or a verified neck finish specification provides the basis for matching a cap to a bottle. The second part of a designation such as 28/410 concerns the neck/thread finish, not the diameter.
Include the following in your enquiry:
- A bottle neck drawing or finish specification and, where possible, a physical sample.
- The filled product, filling temperature and conditions of use.
- The required opening action, tamper-evident features and sealing system.
- Annual demand, order batch size and preferred delivery schedule.
- A colour reference, printing requirements or other specific requests.
Why do samples matter?
A technical sheet helps you assess a candidate product. Before ordering for series production, test the bottle, cap and actual filled product together. Assess cap feeding, application and opening behaviour, as well as sealing performance, on the filling line. Test conditions and acceptance criteria depend on the application.
