How should you choose a trigger sprayer?
What is a trigger sprayer?
A trigger sprayer is a manual packaging component that dispenses liquid from a bottle when the user moves the trigger. Spray pattern, output and operating features vary with the design. It should not be treated as the same product category as a small finger-operated mist sprayer or a lotion pump.
Use in cleaning-product packaging does not establish compatibility with every cleaning formulation. Selection needs to consider the actual liquid and intended use as well as mechanical fit with the bottle. Appearance alone does not provide this information.
Start with the bottle and dip tube
Compare the bottle neck drawing, thread specification and tolerances with the selected model’s technical information. Matching nominal diameters is insufficient. Dip tube length, the cut at its end and its position relative to the bottle base can affect product pickup; check them using a physical sample.
Do not assume that a sprayer working on one bottle will perform identically on another with a different height or neck. Use model-specific guidance for application settings. A universal application torque, tube length or fitting method cannot be recommended for every trigger sprayer.
Assess performance with the actual liquid
Test samples with the intended formulation under representative conditions. Assess initial priming, repeated triggering, spray pattern and operation after storage. Where a model has an adjustable nozzle or an off position, test these separately; do not assume that every model offers the same settings.
Formulation and use temperature are part of compatibility assessment. Successful testing with water does not establish general compatibility with another formulation. Follow the cleaning product or chemical label’s instructions for use and protection. Do not direct sample sprays towards people or animals.
Comparing two Peksan records
The catalogue identifies 028.057TTP11E as a 28 mm trigger sprayer and 028.061TTP11E as a 28 mm all-plastic trigger sprayer. Both records specify an EPE liner. Equal nominal diameter and liner type do not establish identical spray performance or chemical resistance.
All-plastic is the catalogue’s product description. It is not, by itself, a recyclability certification or a claim of resistance to every formulation. Check the required feature against current technical documentation for the full product code. Do not base a performance comparison on the model name alone.
Information for wholesale enquiries
For wholesale supply, specify batch size and repeat-order plans alongside total quantity. Minimum orders and sample arrangements vary by product and supplier.
Include the bottle drawing, liquid information, required spray behaviour, conditions of use and quantity in the enquiry. Agree on samples and acceptance criteria. Confirm colour, tube dimensions, available settings, stock and lead time in the relevant quotation.
